Principal Director of Music

Concert Jacket

Worn by the Principal Director of Music whilst conducting concert orchestras. British manufactured circa 2009.

The tunic itself is made from fine Venetian cloth with three buttons being fitted to each side of fore-parts of the jacket, however unlike conventional officer's mess jacket there is not a pair of buttons and link to fasten the two sides of the jacket closed.

The rear  of the tunic's skirt is panelled and spilt creating two tails.

Two buttons are fitted to the mid points of the vertical and horizontal seams.

Cuffs are finished off with three Gilt buttons with a separate mounted Eagle and Crown.

Unusually rank is denoted  by the use of half sized gold bullion lace on the flexible shoulder straps stitched to the jacket, rather than lace around the cuff.
