Flight Sergeant

Service Dress Jacket dated 1936

Featuring an open necked collar with a gilding metal belt buckle metal and buttons to the front and two upper pockets; the belt was loose. 

 
 

 
     

         
     
Flight Sergeants were distinguished by a metal crown worn above the three stripes.

Flying Badges were embroidered, this example being for an Air Gunner, which was introduced in 1939. Prior to this a metal Winged Bullet was worn by Air Gunners on the sleeve of the jacket.
